Sculptures in solid bronze. Created in Burkina Faso, Africa. The sculpture shows a graceful head wrapped apart of the lips. Trophy. Fetish. The masking of the bronze magnifies the fascination and brings back to the one who’s watching, to his covering and his presence. Echoes to the academic marble veiled sculptures of the 18th and 19th centuries and the sacred African masks. Each piece of the series is unique. Using the ancient technic of the lost wax, developed in a refined and unusual way, gives an organic and uncertain aspect, between ancestral and contemporary. The bronzes are the size of a human head and kept in natural gold color to render the alive impression. These heads are, and more and more as you watch them, raw beauty and presence, nearly as they contain a memory that is to be revealed.
